Continuing education is a must no matter the industry. Automotive Body Shops and those in the collision repair field, need continuing education to keep them up to date with the ever-changing standards and designs they work with on a day to day basis. We are pleased to introduce to you, the Tech Assistance Program.
What Is TAP?
This is a program to help body shops that want to do proper collision repairs using education and certification. We know there is an expense in body shop education and certification. This program is to help offset that expense. To help those who are wanting to provide a safe and proper repair on vehicles that all our families depend on every day. The program is designed to help those who want to do what is right in repairing vehicles. It is also for the shop who has master auto body techs who need to know about the next generation of vehicles on the road tomorrow or for the new guys who are just starting out and for the body shops that are depending on them to do proper collision repairs.
Why Did We Initiate It?
It is a way for Collision Safety Consultants of Southeastern Louisiana (CSCSELA) to help the industry of collision repair. Vehicles are very complex today and it takes more today to repair them properly than it did 10, 5, even 2 years ago. To repair properly, body shop education is key. Body shop education is what is behind a repair that is safe in order for people to continue to use their vehicle in transporting themselves and loved ones almost every day of their life. Unfortunately, we see that many do not have the proper body shop education to do so. We want to help educate those who are beginning and to help body shops promote and defer the expense in this area. Our goal is to have a proper repair done on every vehicle after an accident. Lives are at stake.
Who Does The Tech Assistance Program Benefit?
Body Shops….. will have help to offset expense to providing education and certification that cost. With today’s collision industry having liability for their work, education, and certification it is not to be overlooked.
Body Shop Technicians….. will have the education to help them do their jobs better. Knowing what to do and how to do it correctly every time. They will enjoy their work more and produce a safer repair.
Everyone…our customers! We will all benefit having our vehicles repaired properly. For many of us, we spend thousands on safe vehicles, for us and our families to be transported every day in. They are very complex. Even slight damage can take a vehicle that was once very safe and downgrade it to one that is not as safe as it was designed as and will not perform the way it should if it was to be in another accident. So in having all vehicles repaired properly is something we all benefit from.
Explanation Of Program
For one person that your shop or employee at your shop refers to us and hires us to represent them will be given a credit of ($20.00) to be used for body shop education or certification. The customer must be one that pays the cost of our services in full and the claim is closed.
The credit will be given back to the shop every six months or at the amount of ($120.00) and must be used for educational classes or for a certification that promotes the collision industry and only the collision industry.
Once credit is given it must be used within the following six months. Or the body shop will no longer be able to be in the program. No specific education program is required. As long as it is a program that is accepted by the collision industry standards and will promote education on proper repairs. When the body shop class is chosen to use the credit on, a pic should be sent to us via email with info of class taken by whom and date. If credit is used toward certification then current certification information should be sent to us for that year.
